Location: Totton Leisure Centre
Client: New Forest District Council
Value: £160,000
Duration: Multi-phase, completed in an active public environment
We're pleased to announce the successful completion of a strategic refurbishment project at Totton Leisure Centre, delivered in partnership with New Forest District Council. This essential upgrade enhances both the fitness facilities and operational infrastructure, ensuring the site remains a modern and functional hub for the local community.

Project Overview
This £160,000 project was delivered across three carefully coordinated phases, each designed to maximise space efficiency and service quality within a live public setting. Works were undertaken while the leisure centre remained fully operational — requiring close collaboration with site management and phased scheduling to ensure minimal disruption to daily users.

What We Delivered
Expanded Free-Weights Area
We reconfigured underutilised space by removing the original steam and sauna cabins to extend the gym’s free-weights zone. This involved:
Demolition of internal walls
Installation of stud partitions
Full redecoration and flooring works
Mechanical and electrical adjustments to support the new layout
New Poolside Steam & Sauna Facilities
A fresh, purpose-built wellness zone was constructed poolside to house the new steam and sauna cabins. The works included:
Design and build of bespoke cabin enclosures
Installation and commissioning of steam and sauna equipment
Tiling, lighting, and ventilation for optimal comfort and safety
New Gym Office & Sports Hall Storage
To support both staff and operations, we delivered:
A new office space for gym personnel
Dedicated storage area for the sports hall
All internal finishes, M&E services, and access enhancements

Working in a Live Environment
Undertaking major refurbishment in an active leisure complex required a highly coordinated approach. Our team worked closely with the client and centre management to phase the works, maintain safe segregation between construction and public areas, and ensure business continuity throughout.
From demolition to the final finishes, each task was completed with health, safety, and operational flow at the forefront.
Outcome
This project reflects our commitment to delivering smart, community-focused solutions within challenging, real-world conditions. The new and improved facilities now better serve gym users, sports teams, and wellness visitors alike — supporting both health and leisure activities in Totton.
We extend our thanks to New Forest District Council and Totton Leisure Centre for their collaboration and support throughout this project.
